Pre-assembled respirometers ensure consistent results!

Using the pre-assembled respirometers included with the investigation, your class will measure the rate of cell respiration in ungerminated and germinated seeds under various conditions as well as the ideal conditions for cellular respiration. In the process, the students will learn how a respirometer works, the relation of carbon dioxide production to respiration rate and the process of metabolism in living organisms. Included is a comprehensive overview of cellular respiration and the three measures of cellular respiration, including consumption of oxygen, production of carbon dioxide and release of energy.
