Perform genetic crosses using easy-to-follow procedures
Your students will perform genetic crosses of Drosophila melanogaster. In the process they will learn how to manipulate and collect data from F1 and F2 generations. They'll then learn how to analyze results from a monohybrid, dihybrid, or sex-linked cross using chi-square analysis techniques. Your students will also investigate the independent assortment of two genes and determine whether the genes are autosomal or sex-linked. Includes illustrated coverage of the life cycle of Drosophila melanogaster, differences between males and females, various easily observed genetic traits and an overview of statistical analysis. Note: Includes a redeemable coupon for requesting the prepaid perishable Drosophila cultures. Please allow 3 weeks for delivery.
