Some drugs are introduced into the body through the skin - or "transdermally" - rather than orally or via injection. This is especially useful for medications that need to be continuously released in very small quantities over an extended period of time. Your students will learn about osmosis, diffusion and semipermeable membranes. They'll then apply their knowledge to the investigation of transdermal drug delivery and its implications in actual, clinical situations.
